School Finalist #1
                                         Wilder Elementary School
- Louisville, Kentucky

My son had a tragic event of his mother passing last year. We moved from Richmond KY to Louisville for a job and my wife and I were worried about how my son would deal with the class sizes, schooling and how the staff would take him. Although he has been at Wilder Elementary for two years with disciplinary problems, this staff all the way up to the Principal is vested in helping my son. I have the principal's phone number and even with me working nights, every one of my son's teachers and the principal have called me after hours to discuss his progress. The Wilder Staff has done everything you could ever ask for and more! They deserve recognition for their efforts and impact to the community.  - Parent
School Finalist #2
                                            Charlestown Middle School
- Charlestown, Indiana

My mother has been a teacher at CMS for over 30 years! Growing up, I remember going in that same exact teachers lounge with my mom to get a soft drink or snack after school. That is the same orange carpet that was there when I was a student! The room looks exactly the same now! If any school deserves the makeover it's CMS! They have so many super heroes that need a great place to eat lunch! - Former Student
School Finalist #3
Eminence Independent School - Eminence, Kentucky

Eminence Independent Schools houses kindergarten through Grade 12 in a single building. Teachers share a small workspace to make copies and prepare activities. There is no teacher's lounge. Our teachers work tirelessly 7 days a week for a population that is entirely on free and reduced lunch in a small rural community devastated by economic decline. The staff deserves a space designed to help us inspire our students.  - Teacher

School Finalist #4
                                              Ballard High School
- Louisville, Kentucky

Ballard was built in 1968. Our teachers lounge has not been remodeled since. We are celebrating our 50th anniversary next year and thought having an updated teachers lounge would help improve our schools climate, culture, and teacher morale. If teachers had an updated, nice, and welcoming lounge, more would use this area. As you can see the vending machine remains empty (not many teachers use this unwelcoming lounge), the microwave has never been replaced, the ceiling tiles are soiled from previous leaks, and sadly the walls are bare. Our teachers deserve this remodel! We service close to 2000 students everyday and having a remodeled lounge would provide teachers a space to relax during their lunch, away from their classrooms. Teachers could also use this space to collaborate with other staff to create a better sense of community. Please consider voting for our school and teachers to receive this much needed ultimate teacher lounge!
